Evolution of a "Camper"

Growing up in Australia, Camping is a common childhood past time, Every one of my mates and I had a "Swag" from a young age, which is basically a canvas waterproof sleeping bag with a thin mattress in it, Throw it down, Roll it out and go to sleep! Perfect when your a single teenager beginning to find adventure and freedom, But as we grow we start looking for a few more creature comforts, And my evolution went like this:
Mattress in the back of an estate:
Yep I skipped Tent mode and went straight to Back of a Car Camping- in this case it was a Holden Adventra (basically a Vauxhall Omega for the UK) This Model was AWD and capable of lite offroading (I did push the envelope on this) To see more about this setup you can see the build here

Rooftop Tent:
Intent on getting everything as mobile as possible, But seeking a bit more space, I jumped on the Roof Top Tent trend that ripped through Australia, This time on a 2005 Range Rover which was a rare sight offroad in Australia I can tell you that! See this build here

Camper Trailer:
The hunt for more space and convenience escalates with a cheap Facebook Marketplace Camper trailer purchase, which escalated to a brand new camper trailer purchase, in a very short period! You can read more about this here

Caravan:
The final form of Camping for me in Australia- And my first proper offgrid Lithium build was a Caravan, But in true RoamFree Fashion- This had to be a 1970s caravan that needed a bit of TLC to get moving- And moving it did with touring Most of Australia and covering Tens of Thousands of miles in incredibly harsh terrain, Want to see more on this one- Click here!

Campervan:
Moving to the UK definitly meant changing things up in a huge way, The roads and space here are far smaller than what Australia had to offer, the Climate was entirely different and we really had to adapt. So the solution was a Van Build, And the base we chose was a 2009 Ford Transit Jumbo XLWB Extra high roof- the biggest we could get! Of course with all the creature comforts to travel the UK Built in- You can see more about this one here

The Boat:
Yep - not content with being locked by land, We opted to get on the water with a classic Princess 37 Flybridge Motorboat- This one is still a work in progress with a full refit and Big Lithium system being installed, using both 12v and 48v this is the biggest project yet! Follow along with it here

Whats next?
Blimp? Hot Air Balloon? Sea plane?? Who knows - With all the plans we have, just maybe we're gonna need a bigger boat!
Stay Tuned Roamers!
